  • Auditions will be held for “Good People “ on October 5 at 12 pm at Cuitting Edge Theater 767 Robert Blvd Slidell LA 70458 “Good People”. Six talented people needed: 2 men and 4 women Directors Note: All roles are available. This show is an actor’s dream with sIx beautifully written roles for actors. Please come to auditions if you are able. If you have a scheduled conflict, message me and I will arrange alternates if needed. The show will be preliminarily blocked In November. Rehearsals will begin after January 1, opening in March after Mardi Gras. Thank you, Suzanne Stymiest. Good People is a 2011 play by David Lindsay-Abaire. The world premiere was staged by the Manhattan Theatre Club in New York City. The production was nominated for two 2011 Tony Awards – Best Play and Best Leading Actress in a Play (Frances McDormand), with the latter winning. Cast: Margaret - White, about 50 Mike - White, about 50 Kate -African American, 30s, Mike’s wife Dottie - mid sixties Jean - about 50 Stevie - 25 - 40 THE STORY: Welcome to Southie, a Boston neighborhood where a night on the town means a few rounds of bingo, where this month's paycheck covers last month’s bills, and where Margie Walsh has just been let go from yet another job. Facing eviction and scrambling to catch a break, Margie thinks an old fling who's made it out of Southie might be her ticket to a fresh new start. But is this apparently self-made man secure enough to face his humble beginnings? Margie is about to risk what little she has left to find out. With his signature humorous glow, Lindsay-Abaire explores the struggles, shifting loyalties and unshakeable hopes that come with having next to nothing in America.
  • CASTING CALL: I'm taking a Halloween break from Extra's typical programming and producing a ~spooky~ alternative in my very first submission based show: That's How They Get You: A Conspiracy Theory Cabaret Aliens, The TRUTH behind the moon landing, Mind control Faked Celebrity deaths Birds: Are they Real? What happened to the real Avril Lavigne? How long will the government continue to hide the truth? Open to drag, burlesque, variety performers of all kinds Show is an 10pm October 29th show, 9:30 Call time. Pay is even split of doors and tips. One number per performer, multiple submissions encouraged. It's a Tuesday Night show, I'm accepting anywhere from 7-10 numbers depending on the interest. Full disclosure, the more ridiculous the numbers, the more likely I am to select them. I am keeping the call open until October 11th.
