Our performing arts scene is serving up a weekend of original work by New Orleanians! Here is the calendar of theatre and dance in NOLA this weekend.

The Baroness Undressed at the Cabildo a unique portrayal of the unbelievable true story of New Orleans own Micaela Almonester, better known as the infamous Iron Bird of Paradise:The Baroness de Pontalba. Aug 1. $35

Turn It Into Smoke A new comedy about two couples signing guardianship papers in case the older couple's plane goes down when unexpected guests arrive. Running July 18-Aug 1 at Mt. Olivet Church. $20-$25 CLOSING WEEKEND

The Glass Menagerie Tennessee Williams' classic story of Tom Wingfield, a factory worker with literary aspirations and his greatest guilt and shame leaving his mother, Amanda, and his sister Laura. Running July 26- Aug 17. $15-$28
