NOLA Theatre and Dance 12/11-12/16

This week you can see holiday classics for the whole fam, adult-only spins on said holiday classics, awe-inspiring aerial arts, new plays, plays that haven’t been written yet, drag/burlesque, and people of all ages getting down!!


It seems every theatre company wanted to do something this weekend. And we have the round-up of smaller events so you can get into the spirit every day this week.

THIS SATURDAY 25 HOUR THEATRE FESTIVAL 

Intramural Theater is BACK with the 2nd Annual 25-Hour Play Festival. Playwrights/directors/actors start on the evening of Dec 14, to write and direct the shows, and they will be preformed the evening of Dec 15th!! 8:30pm and 10:30pm Dec 15th At the Fortress of Lushington $10

THIS SATURDAY AND SUNDAY ONLY NUTCRACKER CABARET

students and teachers of Fly Circus Space whip up a magical, circus interpretation of The Nutcracker Cabaret! Mysterious sorcerers, sugar rum cherry fairies, snow queens and more will fly through the air to delight your senses. We’ve created some whimsical wintertime wonder and can’t wait to share it with you!  Saturday, Dec. 15th at 8pm Sunday, Dec. 16th at 7pm $12 at Fly Circus Space

THIS SATURDAY at 1PM DANCING GROUNDS ANNUAL WINTER SHOWCASE

Celebrate the end of 2018 with your #DGFamily! This annual, all ages event includes adult and youth student performances, food & drink, and a charitable raffle to raise money for our youth programs. We hope you can join us in the festivities.

Writer A.J. Allegra puts an irreverent spin on Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. In this comedic retelling, Ebenezer Scrooge – miser, bigot, misogynist, and overall terrible human being – learns the true meaning of Christian charity and, most importantly, what a tremendous asshole everyone really thinks he is.
