SINGLE BLACK FEMALE by Dr. Lisa Thompson a two-woman show with rapid-fire comic vignettes that explore the lives of thirty-something African American middle-class women in urban America as they search for love, clothes, and dignity in a world that fails to recognize them amongst a parade of stereotypical images. Running Jan 4- Feb 2. At the Historic Carver Theatre. $20-$30.

GENTLEMEN'S GUIDE TO LOVE AND MURDER an enchanting evening of music, mirth, and… murder. Monty Navarro, a charming, down-on-his luck clerk learns he is eighth in line for the title of Earl of D’ysquith, and a distant heir to the family fortune. CLOWNLESS An all femme theatrical parody of everyone's favorite 90s movie: Clueless. A 30 year old teenager with a love of yellow plaid, a loqued out Jeep, and an overbearing father, schemes with her friends at school, loves makeovers, parties, and lots of trips to the mall. POOF! by Lynn Nottage a staged reading presented by No Dream Deferred. The reading is in conjunction with No Dream Deferred's exhibition "The Beautiful Ones, New Orleans Theatre: A Living Legacy Featuring The Visual Art of Johnathan Gibson" installed at the SALON. 2PM on Saturday Jan 19
